How do I create an email account?


  • Go to the home page.
  • On the right, in the email section, click on the link "New account". This should take you to the registration page.
  • Make sure all the required fields are filled.
  • Some times a passcode will be required. You can request a "Passcode" via the customer support link located on the top of the home page.

How do I change my password?
  • You can change the password by going to the home page and clicking the link "Change password" under EMAIL on right.

Why I do get the error message "Unknown user or password incorrect" though I use the correct credentials?

  • Make sure you enter the username in the format myname@genuinewebhosting.net.
  • Ensure the caps lock key is off.
  • If still does not work, send a message via the customer support page.

Can I use email clients such as MS Outlook, Outlook Express, etc to access my mail?
  • You can access your mail using POP or IMAP connection. When using POP connection don't forget to select the option to leave a copy of your mail on the server. The server names are "mail.techscorner.com".

I am not able to send mail via email clients such as MS Outlook, Outlook Express?
  • SMTP connection are not allowed for the free email accounts. To send mail via mail clients use your ISP's smtp server name.

How do I manage my account such as adding filters, forwarding mails, etc?
  • You can change the password by going to the home page and using the link "My account".

What is my domain name?
  • It is "genuinewebhosting.net"

How do I register a webspace account?

  • Open the site "http://www.genuinewebhosting.net"
  • Click on the link "New Account" in the section "WEBSPACE" located at the bottom of the page.
  • Enter the required information
  • The date or birth, secret question, and answer will be the one that will help you get access on your account incase you forget your password
  • Your password will be send to your email account
  • Your initial URL will be "http://www.genuinewebhosting.net/username"

How do I upload a web site?

  • Create a simple html page and name the page as "index.html". Make sure the page opens in your computer before we proceed to upload the page.
  • Open the site "http://www.genuinewebhosting.net"
  • Click on "MEMBER AREA" located on the top of the page
  • Enter the username and the password, and click on the login button
  • Select the option "Upload files"
  • Press the brows button and select the "index.html" file you created in your computer.
  • Leave the section "Sub-folder name (if any):" blank
  • Press "Upload File"
  • Access your site using the URL "http://www.genuinewebhosting.net/username"

I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?

  • Go to http://www.genuinewebhosting.net
  • Click on the "customer support" link on top
  • Enter your first name, last name, username
  • In the Category field select "Web hosting", and enter your email address.
  • On the right panel in the section "Please enter your query here" enter a brief note.
  • If the username and email address matches our record, the new password will be mailed to the email address.

How do I create a sub-folder?

  • For example let us say that we want to create a folder named "images".
  • Click on the 'MEMBER AREA' link on http://www.genuinewebhosting.net
  • Select the option "Create a sub-folder"
  • In the correct panel enter your username and password
  • Type "images" in the "New folder name" field.
  • Press the button "CreateFolder"
  • Incase you want to create a folder named "mypics" inside the "images" folder, the value you should be entering in "New folder name" is "images/mypics"

How do I list files and folders stored in my webspace?

  • Click on the 'MEMBER AREA' link on http://www.genuinewebhosting.net
  • Select the option "List files and directories"
  • In the correct panel enter your username and password.
  • To list contents of your main directory leave the field "Sub-folder name" blank.
  • If you want to list the contents of a folder named "mypics" that is in the folder "images" the value to be entered in "Sub-folder name" is "images/mypics"

How do I create a simple web page?
  • Though there are several programs to create a web page a simple and accessible application is Microsoft MS Word.
  • Open Microsoft Word application
  • Type few lines. You may use formatting features such as bold, underline, etc.
  • When saving the file, name the file as "index.html" and the file type as 'html', 'htm', or 'webpage'.
  • Close the MS Word application.
  • Go to the folder in which you saved the file, and double click the file to open.
  • You will notice that it opens in your default browser such as Internet Explorer, or Firefox.
